Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 September 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By registering for or using WorkTag ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of services
WorkTag provides a workforce identity and job-matching platform for the South African labour market. The Service includes worker profiles, identity verification (powered by LabourID), employer profile browsing, and related features. Identity verification products are fulfilled by LabourID (Pty) Ltd and are subject to their terms in addition to these.
3. User accounts
You must be 18 years or older to register. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You may not share your account or use another person's account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
4. Permitted use
Workers may use the Service to build and verify their workforce identity profile, share it with prospective employers, and access verification results relating to themselves. Employers may use the Service to browse verified worker profiles for legitimate recruitment and workforce management purposes.
5. Prohibited use
You may not: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to access another user's data without authorisation; scrape, reverse-engineer, or copy the platform; use identity verification results for any purpose other than fraud detection and prevention or lawful employment screening; harass, defame, or harm other users.
6. Payment & refunds
Payment
Verification products are charged at LabourID's published sell prices, with no markup. Payment is processed by PayFast. All prices are in ZAR and include VAT where applicable.
Refund policy
Once a verification has been submitted to LabourID and processed, it cannot be refunded as the service has been rendered. If a verification fails due to a technical error on our side, we will re-run it at no charge or issue a credit. Disputes must be raised within 14 days of the transaction.
Pricing changes
We may change pricing at any time. Changes will be reflected on the checkout page before you pay and do not affect previously purchased verifications.
7. Accuracy of verification results
Verification results are sourced from third-party data providers (including Home Affairs and credit bureaus) via LabourID. WorkTag does not warrant their accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. Results must not be used as the sole basis for a hiring decision.
8. Intellectual property
All content, branding, and software on the Service belong to WorkTag or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, WorkTag's total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid in the 3 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, special, or consequential damages.
10. POPIA compliance
We process your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). Please read our Privacy Policy and POPIA & PAIA Manual for full details of how we handle your data and how to exercise your data-subject rights.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South Gauteng High Court, Johannesburg.
